On July 31, 2016, Jimmy Walker, a 37-year-old from Texas, takes home the PGA championship after beating opponent Jason Day. Walker finishes the major one shot ahead of Day; the victory moving Walker from 29th to 4th in the Ryder Cup standings. If Day had won the major he would have joined Tiger Woods as the only two to win back-to-back PGA championships. After winning Walker states, "There was nothing easy about the day, really about the week, for that matter. Especially coming down the last hole."
